Visual Designer

Job Context:

Riseup Labs is looking for a Visual Designer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Previous experience as an effects artist either in real-time games or with pre-rendered cinematic content for TV, film, or games.
• Work closely with artists, designers, programmers, and audio staff to execute outstanding FX, enhancing the overall game experience
• Able to engage in collaboration and critique with other developers.
• Driven to explore new technology, process, techniques, and styles.
• Strong ability to create shaders/materials as necessary for FX
• Keen eye for timing, motion, and visual FX achievement
• Excellent sense of scale, timing, detail, form, texture, color and weight with regard to effects
• Must have the drive to conquer technical challenges
• Relevant 2D and 3D software experience; Photoshop, After Effects, Houdini, Maya, Unreal
• An eye for recreating natural phenomena
• Comfortable with Mathematical and node-based systems
• Manages In-Game Particle Effects work, Explosions, Gunfire, Energy FX and other effects
• Experience in working with Unity / Unreal Game engine

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from any discipline.

Additional Requirements:

• Proficiency in English is a must.
• 2+ years’ experience as a visual designer, graphic designer, or equivalent.
• 2+ year experience managing designers or other creative team members.
• Strong visual design sense and command of typography, visual hierarchy, and color theory.
• Understanding of design best practices and current design trends.
• Must have experience in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator
